When we are kids we love a treasure hunt and tonight was just that as my daughter and I lifted the huge cabbage leaves to see what we could discover underneath.
First it was other old leaves which we put into the compost. Then a pull on a onion stem, then another and another and we found 2 beautiful tiny brown onions and a white onion. They looked so good in miniature that we decided to pick a few of the other baby vegetables including our first squash and mini capsicums.
We were trying to decide what dish to make and then decided it would make a fantastic "display" jar of whole baby pickled vegetables.
