Day 18


We’ve been building up a large quantity of tomatoes because they are ripening daily and as we’d made sauce already we’d thought we’d try something else.  

Looking in a preserves book I’d bought years ago I found a recipe for tomato and apricot chutney.   One of the things we really aim to do is preserve produce and this sounds like a great one to try.  

From the patch we used around 750gms of tomatoes and a chilli just to add some kick.  It was our 1st red chilli and I thought I’d try a bit.  It was unbelievably hot.   



We ended up making 4 jars of chutney and at first taste I think its going to be a winner.
